Christian but not insane by Lizzie-Doodle Christian but not insane by Lizzie-Doodle
NEW READ: 7/28/13: Okay I'm now an Atheist. My life journey is a complicated one, and I am happier and healthier than ever. I want to take this down, but I want to leave it. Because I want to remember where I came from, and to see how...pathetic I looked. It's truly sad to see this stamp today. I think religion IS harmful, and not healthy. Sorry but that's the way it is. So, favorite this, or like it. I only have it here for my purpose. Thank you.

Announcement: Err awkward. I'm not a christian anymore. I'm not religious, but I'm not atheist either. I don't care for an explanation. I am not taking this down, because for some reason....well I think everyone deserves respect for one's own beliefs. Whatever it may be (as long as it is not harmful). Just whatever.

Stamp credit: fav.me/dhhozd

Edit; I knew I would get bunch of comments on this, religious topics are always the heat of debate. But I am not afraid to say this, and I won't be taking down comments. I won't be responding to comments, because everything I have to say is already said. But thank you for the favs, I am glad people like this I suppose.

People it's Lizzie-Doodle's choice. You hating on her for their choice it doesn't make you look better. In fact, you're all are pretty much proving her point. She's not Christian anymore. That's her choice. Not everyone else's, in fact saying such things is the reason why people stop being in a religion. Pushing others like that is why people think it's best to leave a religion. They don't want the drama that such people in religion give.

I consider myself Christian and have beliefs in Buddhism and Native American spirituality. According all those beliefs, disrespecting this person for their choice is going against what those beliefs stand. So people, back off. Having an opinion doesn't mean you're entitled to treat a person with disrespect for their different views.

May not be true... God calls people back who wonder, it happened to me. And those who knew me before my lack of faith wouldn't say that I wasn't ever a Christian.

Maybe, but if you had a lack of faith to begin with then you probably weren't completely sure. Christians don't doubt themselves, you may have believed in Jesus, but accepting him into your heart? Probably not. I'm not saying that you didn't believe in him, don't get me wrong ^-^'
It's just that an actual Christian never wonders and "stops believing" {if that's even what you did, I'm not entirely sure You we're kinda obscure on that~}. Who knows though, maybe she will be drawn back just the same.

I became agnostic, not atheist, I still believed in a higher power, but because of worldly things I got distracted and wanted my make my 'own religion'. I was a strong believer before it. He'd removed a demon that was haunting me and attack me physically haha, I definitely knew His power.
Also I believe Christians do doubt themselves... that's why we need a saviour because our abilites are not powerful without Him. Our faith is by His faith only. He chose us.

I kinda figured it was more along the lines of agnostic.. xD
And sure we doubt ourselves, we are human after all, but we don't stop believing. She stopped believing all together ;-;
Have you not seen her most recent stamps?

Yeah I have but a lot of people live out of fear. We have to remember that we're in His image and that the law has been written on our hearts, so when we are exposed to our sin we actually know that it's wrong. However instead of following God and letting Him make it right, people choose to embrace and encourage the sin instead. People like this may very well know what they're doing is wrong, because the Holy Spirit has shown them this. Which isn't a lack of disbelief. To see the difference and know it is believing, it's so more do with just a lack of obedience.
(Sorry, I went all out nerd :P )

Nah its fine. And yeah, I know what you're saying, theres a difference between doing something because you don't know its wrong, and doing something blatantly even though you know it is. I wonder if people do that in an attempt to try and defy God..
What they don't understand is that they're no different than anyone else~
Just look at what happened to Lucifer. ' w '

"Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control." best verse ever

Funny, you thought this way at one time and now you are discounting it? Why discount something that rings true, no one is stupid, a nut case, or brain washed no matter what belief they are. And I think that is the bottom line.

It's very likely that he discounted it because it did, after all, not ring that true any more. As is the case with most atheists, including myself. Most of us, at one point or another in our lives, believed all this nonsense. Then we took a step back, a good look at the matter and found that (in the best-case scenario) it didn't make any sense or (in the worst-case scenario) it actually was incredibly harmful.

And yes, some people are indeed brain-washed, stupid or nutcases for their beliefs.

I agree. I have two very dear friends who are both very religious, one more than the other, and the other more than the one in some ways. While we were watching a video on carbon dating and it said that the Earth is billions of years old, one of my friends leaned over the table to us and whisper-screamed "LIES,"
and I'm just like, in my head, "If God actually did create the Earth, then my would he even go through the trouble of making it seen as though it is billions of years old? huh? A little common sense never hurt anyone." Well except the patriots that read Common Sense and joined the revolution, and died, because if it. They died because of it

Well, common sense can be quite dangerous sometimes. Like if the whole population discards common sense as lies that the devil told people, or some such.
But yeah, common sense seems to be in short supply among the religious these days, sadly ... had an argument with a guy on youtube the other day. He very adamantly claimed that there were no such things as beneficial mutations.
I linked him several publications proving him wrong (like the whole deal about the ccr5-Δ32 mutation that confers resistance against HIV-1, smallpox and the plague, for instance), and he went on to call those publications "opinions" and therefore not valid. He still sticks to his claim that there are no beneficial mutations, to this day. Takes a metric fuckton of self-delusion or utter and complete ignorance if you ask me ...

This is something that needed to be said. As an atheist myself, it can be difficult to keep away from hateful stereotypes. I find it helps to have friends from different religions and look up religious stuff from time to time. It is really sad how many of my fellow atheists are racist assholes, though.
Good art, completely true. thanks for the reminder.
